MODERN PRIORITIES: TALKING TO MIKI AGRAWAL OF THINX

It's never been as empowering to be a woman– but it's also never been as complicated. The modern, connected woman carries with her plenty of expectations. In this blog series, we take a peek into the digital habits and modern priorities of some of the power women we admire. They show us it's possible to do it all, live well and inspire others everyday.

Miki Agrawal is a modern serial entrepreneur on a mission to break modern taboos. She is Co-Founder and CEO of period underwear Thinx, Founder of portable bidet concept Tushy, Founder of gluten-free farm-to-table pizzeria Wild, and author of the book Do Cool Sh*t. Considering what keeps Miki busy in a day, it's clear she knows what she's talking about. A former investment banker and athlete, Miki's story of invention and re-invention is enough to inspire anyone to re-assess how they spend their time. We asked Miki to give us a quick download on what a day looks like between her digital and physical life.

What does your morning ritual look like?

I start with a glass of water with lemon, a 10 minute mediation, 8 minutes of Japanese calisthenics, 15 minutes of yoga, followed by a steaming hot shower. If it's spring or summer or fall, I ride my bike to the office for 45 minutes in each direction. If it's winter or raining, I'll ride the subway to the office.

Which apps or tools do you use to help you be on your A-game?

I use Rapportive to tell me about my contacts in my inbox, Pomodoro to stay on track, and I set reminders in my phone every three hours to take three long deep breaths :-).

Top tip for preparing for a busy day ahead?

Look at a day's calendar in the morning and mentally prepare accordingly.

How do you make time to switch off from technology?

I have a strict rule: no phones in the bedroom, ever. I turn my phone on airplane mode and switch WiFi off in my apartment every night. I live in a 150 year old converted church so the walls are thick brick and WiFi doesn't get in.

How has social media helped you in your career?

It has helped me bring awareness to my projects and grow a community around them.

Do you feel like you portray who you really are online?

I definitely share more victories and less vulnerabilities - I like to keep that offline between close friends.

What does 'digital balance' mean to you?

It means to be balanced with how much technology you bring into your life.
